SMTP authentication
You need to be actively involved when implementing this measure. Your mail provider will inform you about this if this hasn’t already happened. Please note: if you receive and send your e-mails exclusively via Webmail you are not affected by SMTP authentication and therefore you don’t have to do anything.

Simple implementation thanks to personal instructions
To increase your own security and the security of all other Internet users you should activate the so-called SMTP authentication in your e-mail program. This means that you have to enter a username and password when sending e-mail to the mail server – just like when you want to retrieve your e-mail.

This is how it works
The following link provides you with a personalized description of the necessary adjustments you need to make to your e-mail program. The adjustments are very easy to make and only take a few minutes.

Help
The Customer Care services of the four providers are on hand with information and assistance if you are having problems. Please refer to your e-mail address provider for this. Anyone, for example, who has an Internet subscription with cablecom but uses an e-mail address from Bluewin should contact Bluewin if they have any questions.
